Land Covering 100 Square Miles
Oil and business tycoon T. Boone Pickens started out in 1971 with 2,900 acres of land in the Texas panhandle. He acquired property over several decades and built an estate covering about 100 square miles.
Mesa Vista Ranch
Living space includes four separate structures totaling 51,000 square feet. The main house known as the Lodge is over 33,000 square feet and includes a conference room, media theater, chef’s kitchen and library. The porch area alone is over 4,000 square feet overlooking several waterfalls, lush gardens and 20 nearby lakes.
Additional Structures
Take a 12 mile drive to the lake house. Drive 3 miles to the airstrip and hangar that includes a 2 bedroom apartment for pilots’ overnight stays. T. Boone Pickens built an 800 square foot wedding chapel where he exchanged vows witnessed by longtime friend Jerry Jones.
Fame and Fortune
T. Boone Pickens is a legendary oil and business magnate. He amassed a $950 million fortune before divesting his assets beginning in 2017. He lived in the Mesa Vista Ranch estate until his death in 2019. He was 91.
