This incredible swimming pool was just lowered into place by one of the biggest cranes in the world. The pool is 90 feet long, 16 feet wide, 10 feet deep, and holds 40,000 gallons of water. It’s made of clear acrylic. The sides are 8 inches thick. The bottom is 12 inches thick. Why such a big crane? This pool is 115 feet in the air and stretches between two apartment buildings in the Nine Elms area of London near the U.S. Embassy. People who live in these buildings can literally swim from one building to the other. If they open their eyes while under water it feels like they are flying. The pool was lowered into place in September 2020 at the Embassy Gardens Legacy Buildings. Luxury apartment units are available for purchase starting at $900,000. The pool will be open to residents in the Spring of 2021.
